Jadzia Dax was a joined Trill Starfleet officer serving as science officer aboard Deep Space 9 from 2369 until her death in 2374. She was the Dax symbiont's eighth host.
She was born Jadzia Idaris in 2341 on Trill. (DS9 novel: Trill: Unjoined)
Starfleet history[]
Jadzia Dax was assigned to Deep Space 9 in 2369. Dax and Commander Benjamin Sisko discovered the Bajoran wormhole and were the first to travel through it to the Gamma Quadrant.[1]
During the First Battle of Chin'toka Jadzia was left in command of Deep Space 9. While visiting the Bajoran temple on the station she was attacked by Dukat, who was possessed by a Pah-wraith and attempting to gain access to an orb. The attack proved to be fatal and Jadzia died of her injuries some time later, though the Dax symbiont survived.[2]
Alternate realities[]
In an alternate universe where the Dominion won the Dominion War, Jadzia was killed onboard the Defiant when it destroyed engaging the Dominion fleet in the Bajoran wormhole during Operation Return.[3]
