The pah-wraiths were a group of wormhole aliens that were banished and imprisoned in the Fire Caves of Bajor. They were the enemy of the Prophets and sought to reclaim the Celestial Temple. They usually appeared as fiery wisps.
They were considered by most Bajorans to the "false prophets". However, some still followed their teachings and were part of the Cult of the Pah-wraiths.[1]
The Pah-wraiths had similar abilities as the Prophets. They could communicate to corporeal beings through "visions" and had the ability to possess corporeal beings. A possess individual would often have the irises of their eyes turn red as well as a slight change in their voice, though these changes were not mandatory as a pah-wraith could possess an individual with no obvious external sighs appearing. At least some of those possessed appeared to have telekinetic powers.[2][3][4][5]
Alternate realities[]
In an alternate universe where the Dominion won the Dominion War, following the defeat of the Kosst Amojan in the Reckoning they then had their "fates sealed" by the Prophets.[6]
