The Jem'Hadar have a relatively simple system of rank with the leader of any unit known as the First. His second in command is known as the Second, his third in command is the Third and so on.[1][2]
In units that comprise of sub-units the First, Second and Third of the larger unit outrank the First, Second and Third of any sub-unit. The Fourth of the larger unit is considered equivalent in rank to the First of a sub-unit, the Firth with the Second of the sub-unit and so forth.[3]
The Vorta in charge of the unit has the power to assign Jem'Hadar at any position, promoting and demoting them as they see fit. If a First is killed the next Jem'Hadar in line usually would be promoted to First, however a Vorta can deny the Jem'Hadar the promotion if they feel they are undeserving of the position.[2]
First[]
First is the highest Jem'Hadar rank and is given to the leader of any Jem'Hadar unit. The First is responsible to the Founders and his Vorta commander. The duties of the First is to maintain the disciplining his unit as well as to provide leadership and tactics. While on the bridge the First worn the virtual display device.
Second[]
Second is the rank for the second-in-command of a Jem'Hadar unit.
Third[]
Third is the rank for the third highest ranked Jem'Hadar in a unit.
Fourth[]
Fourth is the rank for the fourth highest ranked Jem'Hadar in a unit.
Fifth[]
Fifth is the rank for the fifth highest ranked Jem'Hadar in a unit.
Sixth[]
Sixth is the rank for the sixth highest ranked Jem'Hadar in a unit.
Seventh[]
Seventh is the rank for the seventh highest ranked Jem'Hadar in a unit.
Eighth[]
Eighth is the rank for the eighth highest ranked Jem'Hadar in a unit.
Ninth[]
Ninth is the rank for the ninth highest ranked Jem'Hadar in a unit.
Honoured Elder[]
This honorific title is given to a Jem'Hadar who lives past the age of 20, which given the Jem'Hadar's sole purpose is a rare event.[4]
